Homemade Pizza

I know it's been awhile since I posted something new... but the wait is worth it. This is amazing. If you know me, you know I do EVERYTHING from scratch.. this is the perfect recipe for pizza crust!

HOMEMADE PIZZA
Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Your choice of pizza sauce
  • Your favorite pizza toppings!

~Pour water into a large bowl. Dissolve brown sugar and yeast packet into the water. Let stand for 10 minutes.
~Stir the salt and oil into the yeast solution. Mix in 2 1/2 cups of the flour.
~Turn dough out onto a clean, well floured surface, and knead in more flour until the dough is no longer sticky. (I found that putting flour on the dough before turning out of bowl makes it a little bit easier, and less messy to work with)
~Place the dough into a well oiled bowl.
~Cover bowl with a dish towel and let sit for at least 1 hour.
~Remove dough from bowl and place in a baking stone.
~Let sit for a few minutes.. it'll be a heck of a lot easier to work with.
~Work out dough to completely fill stone.
~Add your favorite sauce and toppings..but remember, don't go heavy with the toppings!
~Bake at 425 for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
